Modern Groove SyndicateThe Modern Groove Syndicate is an instrumental group relying heavily on composition, improvisation, and their own unique brand of energy and individual talents to make their point. MGS includes members of national recording Agents of Good Roots, Moderico, and Buzby. They've opened for such jazz greats as John Schofield and Chuck Mangione. While the group's influences are all over the map, one can hear elements of P-Funk, John Cage, Brecker Brothers, the Crusaders, Jimmy Smith, and the Meters within their sound.

Joel DeNunzio - "I took piano lessons for a while, and then guitar lessons. Neither of these was ofmuch interest to me. Finally, in the fourth grade I got a snare drum. I played it in school and finally got a real drum set when I got into the 8th grade. I was hooked. Throughout middle school and high school I would get together, jam with my friends, start various bands, and play whenever and wherever someone would have us. In high school it got a little more serious. My group started playing at local clubs and opening for some national acts. I've played in many groups over the years and have finally found the one that fits me perfectly. Not only do I love the music but also we have great time just hanging out…"

Find out more about the "Vessel" CDTodd Herrington - Began playing bass at age thirteen. By twenty, he was a veteran of the chicken wing circuit, having played with his band in clubs all over the East Coast. He has shared the billing with names such as Dave Matthews, P-Funk, Blind Melon, Agents of Good Roots, Pat McGee Band, and Fighting Gravity. Todd offers a wide and varied range of musical experience and has become a much sought after sideman. He is also handy with the guitar, drums, keyboard, and harmonica. Having reached his ten-year mark as a bass player, Todd shows no signs of slowing, and brings a unique blend of enthusiasm and experience into his work.

Daniel Clark - A VCU music graduate, grew up in a musical family. Daniel started piano in Find out more about the Modern Groove Syndicate debut CDelementary school. The summer after his sophomore year he studied at Boston's Berklee School of Music, realizing then that music would be his life. Daniel joined his father's band performing funk, jazz, and rock and roll all over the east coast. in addition to MGS, Daniel performs in several groups including The Devil's Workshop, Neighborliness, and with John D'Earth and The Jackie Frost Trio.

J .C. Kuhl - Grew up Baltimore MD. He began playing saxophone at the age of nine, and continued through his high school days. At Towson State University he majored in Jazz/Commercial Music. He gained exposure to Jazz, Funk, R & B, and Latin music through his work as a studio musician, and by sitting in at clubs in the Baltimore/DC area. In September of 1995, J.C. joined Agents of Good Roots, an eclectic rock band that fused many different styles including jazz, hip-hop, and classical. They toured for six years playing over 200 shows a year. In 1997, they were signed by RCA records and achieved moderate success with their major label debut, "One By One." In August of 2001, J.C. joined forces with Modern Groove Syndicate.
